Eco-Friendly Digitalization: Promoting Paperless Culture at Telkom University

In the ever-evolving digital era, Telkom University utilizes technology to create an environmentally friendly campus environment. One important step taken is to encourage a paperless culture, where the use of paper in academic and administrative activities is minimized through the implementation of a digital system. This effort not only supports the efficiency of the academic process, but also strengthens Telkom University’s commitment to the Green Campus vision.

The digital system used by Telkom University is not only limited to learning activities, but also includes campus administration. There are two main platforms that support this paperless culture, namely the Learning Management System (LMS) for the learning process and Igracias for lecture administration.

LMS: Digital Transformation in Learning

Telkom University has integrated the Learning Management System (LMS) as an online learning center. LMS allows students and lecturers to interact digitally, without the need to use paper. Through this platform, lecturers can upload lecture materials, give assignments, and conduct assessments, while students can access materials, submit assignments, and take exams online.

With LMS, the need to print teaching materials or assignments has been drastically reduced. The entire learning process can be done digitally, thus helping to reduce paper use. In addition, LMS also supports flexibility of time and place, where students can access materials anytime and anywhere through digital devices.

Igracias: Paperless Lecture Administration

In addition to LMS, Telkom University also provides the Igracias platform which functions as a center for lecture administration. Through Igracias, students can take care of various academic needs online, such as filling out KRS (Study Plan Card), applying for leave from college, viewing lecture schedules, and checking final semester grades.

The use of Igracias helps reduce paper usage in administrative processes that previously required a lot of printed documents. With this system, administrative processes become faster, more efficient, and of course, more environmentally friendly. Students and staff can take care of administration without having to print forms or collect physical documents, thus further supporting the paperless culture at Telkom University.

Reducing Paper Footprint, Increasing Efficiency

The digitalization steps taken by Telkom University through LMS and Igracias not only increase efficiency, but also have a positive impact on the environment. The use of paper, which used to be an inseparable part of academic activities, has now been drastically reduced. Thus, the campus can reduce the carbon footprint resulting from paper production and disposal.

Reducing paper usage also means saving natural resources, such as trees, water, and energy needed in the paper production process. By minimizing paper usage, Telkom University contributes to global efforts to preserve the environment and reduce waste.

Challenges and Opportunities of Paperless Culture at Telkom University

Although the implementation of paperless culture through LMS and Igracias has brought many benefits, challenges in adaptation remain. One of the biggest challenges is the initial adjustment for some students and lecturers who are accustomed to manual systems. However, through various training and technical support, Telkom University continues to educate the campus community to maximize the use of this digital platform.

In the future, Telkom University plans to continue developing digital infrastructure that supports paperless culture. Not only for academic activities, but also for other administrative activities. Thus, paper usage can be further reduced, and the campus can continue to innovate in creating a sustainable learning environment.

A Sustainable Future at Telkom University

Digitalization through the implementation of LMS and Igracias is part of Telkom University’s efforts to realize the Green Campus vision. With the increasing development of technology, Telkom University continues to be committed to utilizing digital systems to create a more efficient, innovative, and environmentally friendly campus environment.

By reducing reliance on paper, Telkom University not only encourages efficiency in the learning and administration process, but also contributes to environmental sustainability. Through this paperless initiative, Telkom University hopes to inspire students and the entire academic community to participate in protecting the environment through small steps that have a big impact.

In the future, Telkom University will continue to develop a more sophisticated and integrated digital system, so that the campus will not only become a center of academic innovation, but also a pioneer in the environmentally friendly movement. That way, the campus can continue to support a greener and more sustainable future
