To help public in obtaining electricity, Telkom University Faculty of Engineering Industry (FRI Tel-U) test applying the wind turbine power plant at 10th Floor Telkom University Lecture Center (TULC), Tokong Nanas building. The wind turbine performance tested since Thursday (3/9) to the next two weeks.
Wind turbines are made as public service activities undertaken by faculty and FRI students. “If the trial was successful, we would apply this tools in Cipatuja village, South Tasikmalaya, West Java. Cipatuja is a remote area which is hardly to reach by electricity”, said Vice Dean II FRI Tel-U, Rd. Rohmat Saedudin, S.T., M.T.
This wind turbine is the result of cooperation FRI Tel-U Rei Energy Solutions for the procurement of equipment and financial support from Net TV. “This wind turbine is a form of alternative to help people get electricity, because by monitoring the PLN when making electric range in an area that is not in the range requires substantial funds”, said Rohmat.
Installation of a wind turbine test was witnessed also by the Vice Chancellor IV, Dr. M. Yahya Arwiyah, SH., MH. “The wind turbine is named turbine Trengginas which means precise, efficient, and effective, such as what to expect from this wind turbine that can be utilized and help people effectively,” said Yahya.
Moreover, he added, community service activities by creating new work in the form of Trengginas wind turbine is expected to provide the innovation and creativity of the younger generation to develop Indonesia. “Especially students Tel-U”, he said.
The wind turbine has a capacity of 500 W is capable of working within 3.2 seconds of the round. “In it there is a battery that can store electricity, so no need to worry about the performance of this turbine,” said Rei, from Rei Energy Solutions. (purel / radit)
