An incinerator machine is a device used to burn waste at high temperatures, thereby reducing its volume and enhancing waste safety. At Telkom University, the incinerator machine in use is manufactured by Bandung Techno Park (BTP) and operates using solar fuel and water. The combustion process is conducted with three stages of filtration to ensure that the emitted smoke is safe for the environment.

3. How the Incinerator Works

The incinerator machine at Telkom University has a burning capacity ranging from 1 to 6 m³ per hour, depending on the type and moisture content of the waste being processed. The combustion process occurs at temperatures between 600°C and 1100°C, which is sufficient to break down hazardous materials into carbon dioxide (CO₂), water (H₂O), and other non-hazardous gases. The result of this process is minimal ash, approximately 5% of the total volume of waste burned.
